Therefore, over 1/3 of #breastcancer diagnoses will metastasize and spread to other parts of the body, most often the bones, lungs, and/or liver.

This used to be a ticking bomb for women, with a life expectancy of less than 5 years from the time of metastasis. But with the continuous advancement in treatments, based upon a better understanding of the specific genetics of individual womens' breast cancer, that time bomb has not extended to 10 or 15 years!

This is what we are raising funds for with SMMBCF: to ensure more women get the right treatment for their #MetastaticBreastCancer and increase their life expectancy.
