Mental Health Awareness Month
In honor of May being #WorldMentalHealthAwareness month, I want to talk about the impact of living with Metastatic Breast Cancer #MBC for the last 6 years -- now nearly 7 years!
In order to live, truly live, I had to come to terms with my death. People ask me all the time, "how do you live a life worth living knowing that you will most likely die while still in your prime?" For me, this involves preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best......and ultimately leaving it in God's hand!
Also, I don't get to feel sorry for myself, be a victim or have a constant pity party. Yes, I do get down from time to time, but when that happens, I set my alarm for 5 minutes.....allowing myself to be sad in that moment, but once the alarm goes off I turn on some good music and do a little dance of joy -- because today, I am alive and plan to make the most of it! #ThriveNotJustSurvive.
